Welcome to Cheltenham's premier Tag Rugby Club for children. Established in 2000, Chris Raymond Rugby hosts over 200 children every Sunday morning for 25 weeks of the year, ensuring that they have a fun time learning new skills through tag rugby. We cater for children of Primary School age and our aim is to ensure that all children have a positive experience every week, (hence the water pistols!). Our coaches are energetic, enthusiastic and are completely focused on developing the skills of your children for the full hour. Otherwise they don't get their bacon rolls from the BBQ at the end! As children move up through the years we enjoy local tag tournaments with Cheltenham College and St Edwards and then feed naturally into the Old Patesians Junior Rugby Club. Our introduction to contact during the autumn for Year 4 children is the perfect platform for creating the Old Pats Under 9s. They then go on to play competitive contact rugby after Christmas. We pride ourselves on club safety and the well being of all children. At least two qualified First Aiders are on hand at all times and everyone is CRB checked. As a parent, if you want an hour of relaxation, with a coffee and a bacon roll, on a Sunday morning, while your child has a brilliant time, then our club is for you. As a child, if you want to learn new skills, be part of a team, make new friends, laugh and feel proud at what you have achieved, then you are welcome to try your first session without obligation.
